The United Board is responsible for commending ordained ministers from the following denominations to serve in the chaplaincies of the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force:
- Assemblies of God
- Baptist
- Churches in Communities (International)
- Congregational Church Federation
- Elim
- Free Church of Scotland

The Board is made up of the Convenor, a retired military chaplain, with a team of representatives from the various represented denominations and an experienced serving chaplain from each of the 3 armed forces.
To be accepted into military chaplaincy you will normally need to have completed 3 years in pastoral charge of a church, although you can begin exploring your sense of calling with the United Board after 2 years in pastorate.
The first step in exploring your sense of calling is to contact the Convenor of the Board via the enquiry form. He will contact you and begin to prayerfully guide you through the process.
